News filtering in from Monrovia, the capitol of Liberia revealed that President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has allegedly sent all her cabinet ministers on administrative leave referring to some of them already as former ministers. There has been no clarification of the administrative leave but insiders have revealed that the ministers have been suspended by the president.

According to a journalist in Monrovia who prefers anonymity, the decision came few hours after the president held an emergency cabinet meeting today, November 3, 2010.

It is not clear when the ministers will be reinstated. However, the Minister of State is the sole survival of the president’s latest action.

It has been rumored in Monrovia in recent times that Pres. Sirleaf was dissatisfied with the performances of her cabinet ministers. Although the motive is still unclear, observers believe that the President’s action is predicated upon poor performance on the part of the ministers. A presidential press release from the office of the Presidential Press Secretary-Cyrus Badio is being broadcasted on major news channels across the country.
